celebrate the 4th of July in Los Angeles
Los Angeles throws an Independence Day celebration like no other. If you’re in the area for the holiday, make sure to plan ahead, because the day’s events are plenty.

First things first, you’ll want to figure out first where you’re going to watch the fireworks displays, and plan the rest of your day accordingly. In LA, location is key. You won’t want travel to be a large part of your day, as the traffic is notoriously painful.

If you’re spending the day with family, the AmericaFest at Rose Bowl Stadium has particularly kids friendly festivities, including a Family Fun Zone. Sports fans will be pleased to hear that Dodger Stadium has a great view of one of the city’s biggest fireworks shows, which take place as soon as the game ends. If you’re too cheap to buy a ticket, hanging around in the parking lot will also provide a great view.

If you’re looking for a good old fashioned block party, Downtown LA is the place to be. The block party starts at 2pm, and lasts all day. This free event includes two stages of live music and DJs, all the food you could eat, games, and more. The fireworks display starts at 8:30pm from The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion roof but can be seen for miles.

There are, of course, many more options in all areas of Los Angeles. You’re sure to find the right event for you. An important thing to keep in mind is that LA traffic is always a mess — and holidays are unfortunately no different.
